EXAR XRP9710 and XRP9711 Programmable Power Modules
EXAR’s XRP9710 and XRP9711 are programmable step-down power modules with dual 6A outputs. Each module includes a switching controller, power MOSFETs, inductors and support devices and requires only a few additional external components. A wide input voltage range (4.75V to 5.5V or 5.5V to 22V) allows for single supply operation from standard power rails. The module package size is 12x12x2.75mm - half the size of typical competing 12V capable 6A modules. The low profile package allows placement on the back of boards or under heat sinks where other solutions cannot be used. These devices are designed to operate at a constant PWM switching frequency of between 500kHz and 750kHz, and are fully controllable via an SMBus-compliant I2C interface allowing for advanced local and/or remote reconfiguration, performance monitoring and reporting, and fault handling. Built-in output over-voltage, over-temperature, over-current and under-voltage lockout protection ensure safe operation under abnormal operating conditions.
