The PICDEM LCD 2 Demonstration Board (DM163030) shows the main features of Microchips 28, 40, 64 and 80-pin LCD Flash PIC microcontrollers including the LCD voltage booster and contrast controller. It is populated with the PIC18F87J90. Other devices are supported via a transition socket and are available separately. A sample LCD glass display is included for custom prototyping. The glass features 7-segment displays, wipers, thermometers, star bursts, and other common icons.
Included Applications:
Voltmeter
A/D module measures the voltage of the on board potentiometer and displays a voltage between 0.00 V and 3.30 V on the LCD.
Thermometer
The A/D module measures the voltage of the thermistor and converts to temperature both in Celsius and Fahrenheit to continuously display the temperature.
Clock
Timer/Clock function shows hours:minutes:seconds with a moving second hand using on board 32 kHz watch crystal.
Charge Pump and Software Contrast
When using the PIC18F87J90 family of devices the LCD module can be configured as a charge pump and software contrast control is activated.
