The RM-3 Mute Module is a microprocessor-controlled “Type 4” safety product. The purpose of the RM-3 is to furnish a temporary, automatic suspension of the safety function(s) provided by a safeguarding device such as a safety light curtain. The RM-3 is a control accessory that provides this safety muting feature for one or two safety light curtains and is housed in a DIN box. The RM-X is a resource module in a DIN configuration that provides conversion from an Sti® solid state safety output device to a relay output. One NO and one NO/NC safety relay outputs are provided. These relays are force guided and can be used as the Machine Primary Control Element (MPCE) depending on the load rating of the device being switched by the relay contacts. Please refer to the specifications section for output switching capabilities. A single connection between the STI safety light curtain and the RM-X provides monitoring of the RM-X's safety output contacts. The RM-X is powered by 24 VDC which is supplied from the safety light curtain.
